Privacy Policy

Wittierly is operated by an individual developer. The product is a Chrome extension that helps users compose replies on X (formerly Twitter) using AI. We are committed to handling as little of your personal data as possible.

• Anonymous account ID. When you first install the extension, we generate a random opaque user ID and an associated API key. This is stored locally in your browser and on our server. No name, email, or other personal info is collected at this stage.
• Quota counter. We count how many AI generations your account has triggered in the current billing period, so we can enforce monthly limits.
• If you subscribe: Creem (our payment processor) receives your name, email, and payment details. We receive a customer ID and email from Creem and store them with your account. We never see or store your card.
• Usage logs. Each generation records a timestamp, tone, style, and outcome (success / error / quota_exceeded). We do not store the tweet text you generated replies for, or the AI replies returned.

• The tweets you generate replies for.
• The AI replies returned to you.
• Your X / Twitter login credentials.
• Your IP address beyond what is necessary for rate limiting.
• Any data from your browsing on sites other than x.com / twitter.com.

We share data only with these processors, and only as needed to deliver the service:

• OpenRouter / Anthropic / OpenAI. The tweet text you generate replies for is sent to a large language model API to produce the suggested replies. These providers may retain prompts for safety review per their own policies. We do not opt into their training-data programs.
• Creem.io. If you subscribe, billing is handled by Creem as Merchant of Record. See their privacy policy at creem.io/privacy.
• Hosting provider. Our server runs on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard web logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) for security and operational purposes.

We do not use your data to train AI models. The tweets and replies that pass through our service are not retained beyond the lifetime of the request, except as needed for transient error monitoring.

The extension does not set cookies. The wittierly.com website may set strictly-functional cookies (for session and security). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

• Account ID and billing status: kept while your account exists.
• Usage logs: 180 days.
• Webhook logs: 90 days.
• Tweet content sent to the AI: not stored.

• Request a copy of your data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to any processing.

We will respond within 30 days.

Wittierly is not intended for users under 18.

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be announced in the extension before taking effect.
